Awesome 3-Man Team Total Rolled in Dickeyville!



Clarke bowling standouts, Stephen Habel, Andy Ehrlich and Jacob Boresch teamed up in the Sunset Lanes scratch league in Dickeyville, WI for some AMAZING bowling last night.
The trio was led by Jacob with an 856 series (277-279-300), followed by Andy with 836 (300-267-269) and Stephen with a 713 series (236-210-267). All of that totaled up to a whopping 2405 scratch series and an 836 final game. We are checking the WI State record books to see where these guys sit on the all-time record list...
It was fun to watch! Great bowling fellas!

700 Club Invitational Doubles Tournament Results



This past weekend the 700 Club Invitational Doubles was held at Cherry Lanes. The teams were made up of one 700 Club member and one bowler who has not yet rolled a 700.

The 3rd Annual Clarke Conference Invite and MCC Championship



The 3rd Annual Clarke Conference Invite and MCC Championship will be streamed live on this weekend (February 9th and 10th).
The event will feature some great regional match-ups on a challenging sport pattern. Each team will bowl 6 team games on Saturday and 16 Baker games on Sunday to determine the tournament champion, then using the tournament pinfalls, they will seed the MCC conference teams into a 6 team bracket for best of 3 matches to determine the conference champion.

2012 Big 10 Champion Is Crowned!!



Congratulations to Dan Olberding, this years Big 10 Champion! Dan defeated Chris Schultz to win his 2nd Big 10 Championship. Dan won his 1st in 2009.

Earlier in the day, the Baker Team Tournament was contested. Twelve teams bowled 12 qualifying games to determine the final four that went head to head. This years winner was Timberline – Al Heiberger, Kyle Conzett, Dan Conzett, Jim Johnson and Dick Specht. Congratulations!

The Big Kahuna for 2012 Is...



This years Big Kahuna winner at Sunset Lanes in Dickeyville is Chris Schultz! Chris outlasted a field of 90 bowlers to win by defeating Phil Breitbach in the title match to win the $500 1st prize!
The high qualifier was Ron Dohrer with 765 and it took 684 to make the 16 man field.

Dubuque Sweeper Singles Tournament Announced!



Dubuque Area Bowling has partnered with Brian White, Cherry Lanes and Budweiser to bring you the newly named "Dubuque Sweeper" on Sunday January 13th, 2013.
This a singles Tournament with a $40 entry fee and $500 1st place prize based on 40 entries. It is a 6 game qualifier with the top 5 going to a stepladder final.

Be sure to stop down at Creslanes this Saturday for Week 2 Matches! There were some terrific matches that came down to the last frame before they were decided. So be sure to stop in and take in some great action!!

Budweiser Big10 Matches Start This Saturday!



Matches Begin at 6:00pm Saturday, November 3rd at Creslanes. Be sure to stop in and cheer on the bowlers. There is sure to be some great action this year, with the low qualifier of 1299, the highest in the history of the tournament!

Dubuque Clarke Crusaders In Action This Weekend



Clarke opened its bowling season Saturday at the Midwest Collegiate Tournament in Wauwatosa, WI. The Crusader men totaled 5908 for the six games (984.67 team average) which is good for 10th among the 42 varsity teams.
A six game total of 5055 (842.5 team average) has the Clarke women sitting in 18th out of 30 varsity teams.
All teams will return on Sunday to decide the final standings. A complete recap can be read on the Clarke team website.

New Womens Hall Of Fame Inductee for 2012



CONGRATULATIONS! To Linda “Bunny” Griffin on being selected as the 43rd inductee into the Dubuqueland USBC WBA Hall of Fame.

Bunny has been a member of the DWBA/WIBC/USBC for 37 years. She has and still is a secretary in several leagues. Bunny also coached Junior League for 20 years including 14 years as the head of the program at Creslanes.

Bunny has spent many years promoting bowling in Dubuque. She has organized over 25 9-pin tournaments and has also worked many others including the Junior City Tournament, 600 Club, and TC’s Lunch Box Open. She has helped recruit new bowlers for many years helping to keep people interested in the game.

Need to Acknowledge Some Recent Great Scoring



It has been brought to the attention of DAB that there has been some amazing bowling that took place in the past few weeks. Tyler Kohl has been on a tear lately shooting two 800 series and two 300 games. There are not many back to back 300 games shot in the same set in Dubuque history, but that is exactly what Tyler did on March 8th. His 300-300, combined with a 206 gave hime a nice 806 series at Cherry Lanes! A couple weeks before that he had games of 266-279-278 for his career high 823 series. Great job Tyler!

Western Dubuque Captures 2nd Straight State Championship



Congratulations to the Western Dubuque Boys Bowling Team (Luke Schroeder, Austin Meeker, Logan Bahl, Luke Maiers, Jared Mueller and Brad Schroeder) on their second straight class 1A state championship!

Congratulations as well to Austin Meeker and Logan Bahl, who tied for 3rd place over all individually!

Local Bowlers Are Trying To Quality for 69th U.S. Open in New Jersey!



Stephen Habel and Logan Klinge from Dubuque are doing their best to qualify this week for the 69th U.S. Open being held in New Jersey. There are three squads, and each squad bowls six games Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and then the top 25% make the cut to the next round!

Dubuque Hempstead Mustangs Qualify for State Bowling!



Congratulations go out to the Dubuque Hempstead Mustang bowlers yesterday, they qualified to make another trip to state! Put you hands together for Phil Breitbach, Phil was high qualifier at sub-state!

Clarke Men's Bowling Team Wins Conference Championship Shooting 280 to Win!!



Tom Kramer Clarke College Men's Team defeated Viterbo University to win the 2nd Annual MCC Championship held this weekend at Cherry Lanes. It was not easy, the team squeaked thru the 1st round narrowly defeating Ashford (best of 3), then they defeated William Penn, who is the #4 rated bowling team in the nation 2-1. Clarke then capped off the day by defeating Viterbo University 2-0!

Dubuque 700 Club Doubles Invitational Tournament Results



The 700 Club Doubles Tournament was held at Cherry Lanes last weekend. Congratulations to Bob Hochrein and Dale Kluesner, who defeated 21 other doubles entries to win. In 2nd place was the duo of Bob Loeffelholtz and John Reed. Jim Roeth and Denny Wieland were 3rd.

Dubuque Bowlers Pair Up to Capture GIBA Title

Cherry Lanes Sweeper Decided Over The Weekend



Congratulations to Louie Clasen who defeated Chris Schultz 278-226 to win the Cherry Lanes Sweeper Tournament. Louie was also the top qualifier with a 6 game set of 1448 over a field of 48 bowlers. The Top 5 qualifiers were Louie Clasen (1448), Chris Schultz (1443), Tom Kramer (1442), Kurt Schmidt (1399) and Matt Gantenbein (1396). The 5 bowlers competed in a a step ladder format to determine the winner.

Mike Hoffman out of Madison, WI defeated Ken Massey from Dubuque, 207-201 in the title match to win the Big Kahuna scratch tournament on Sunday at Sunset Lanes in Dickeyville, WI. Matt Gantenbein was the top qualifier with a 750.
